Jim,
Thanks for the common sense remarks. You're right that the spring length has to be constant regardless of shock type.
Question: Are any listers out there who installed Eibach within 2002?
(my arbitrary date selection)
If yes, is your car level?

That's great and all, but will DC at Eibach pick up the extra cost of
taking them back out again when it's not level? Further, the problem is
apparently only with Bilstein shocks. It is unlikely that Eibach will
supply 2 different springs depending on which third-party shock you
select. If they make the springs longer, anyone with Koni's etc would
have the back be too HIGH.
Anyway, don't mean to rant, thanks for doing the research and keeping on
this, Jeff.
