Aaron -

The rotten egg smell will tend to appear after the car has been running
hard, then idles -- it's running on the rich side. If you're getting
the smell, but the wife is not, you're obviously a little friskier with
the right pedal than she. You're not alone in this, bro. :-)

Audi put out a bulletin on this issue and basically blamed it on the
gas. They recommend trying a different brand. In my experience, this
does make a difference. Of course, the gas station closest to my home,
Shell, seems the worse offender. I've found that Union 76 is slightly
better than Shell and Chevron slightly better than 76. So, try shopping
around. This may be regional to some extent. The swill labeled 91 Octane
here in Northern California barely meets the definition of gasoline.
Also noticed that taking things easier for the last few minutes of the
drive seems to help, too. This is a good practice in general, as it
allows the turbo to cool down a bit before shutdown.
