A month ago a guy came in to the shop and we started talking cars--he had a=
new WRX. I asked him if he would give me a ride sometime, he said sure. =
Fast forward to last night: I was giving an employee a ride home and while=
we were discussing the possibilities of a broken key on my crank pulley I =
saw a blue WRX ahead. We were on a long stretch of interstate so I dumped =
it in third and caught up to him. We came up on some traffic and did a lit=
tle cat and mouse action--he didn't seem to be THAT bad of a driver. I cou=
ld pull him considerably at any speed which was cool with me because I'm st=
ill having problems with intermittent boost (broken crank pulley key?). He=
followed me to where we were going, we all got out and he started in with =
"What the Hell is that thing?" I then remembered talking to him in the sto=
re a month earlier then he asked why my wheelbase was that screwed up, he d=
idn't like the wheelbase in proportion to the car. Whatever, Dude. He wal=
ked around my car saying things like "yeah, that makes sense why Audi did t=
hat", "STI this and that, blah, blah, blah". He said that he had done a bu=
nch of things to his car and it was putting out 260 or 280 hp. No way. Th=
en I looked inside his car. He had Scooby Doo seatcovers and a tiger fur s=
teering wheel cover. The car ran no better than stock, but Man was it deck=
ed out inside!!! I guess he was a little too excited because right there o=
n the spot he pissed his pants! No lie, he had on dress pants and let fly.=
I couldn't believe I actually placed the welfare of myself and anyone aro=
und us at risk. This guy was a complete idiot and it showed me that you ca=
n't be too careful in dealing with an unknown in another car--I'm just glad=
that I was that much faster and always ahead of him. Long live Scooby Doo.
