[s-cars] MTM chip wastegate adjustment

I received the second MTM 3.0 bar that came to the US. Yes, it was many
years ago. It's not well know but there was an early and late version of
the this software. I had the earlier of course. Anyway, when I received
the ECU mit MTM chips (and my OE chips, BTW) I was told that I could turn
the wastegate screw 6 times and no more. I did so....to this day I still
have it cranked down 6 times even though I'm running Hans Lehman RS2
software. 105k miles after turning the screw I have had zero problems. I
got the MTM 3.0bar software for a friend a couple of years ago and there was
no paperwork this time that instructed how to turn the wastegate screw. I
picked up the phone and asked Mike if they still recommended six turns? He
said yes, but we don't tell people that anymore because folks were turning
it beyond 6 turns and then calling him up complaining that there was
something wrong with the chips.

capote?

All this discussion has peaked my interest. I have a recently installed mtm
1+ set-up. the motor is otherwise stock. My car runs strong and smoothly
without making any odd noises. Hoppen sent nothing back with my ecu
indicating I should mess with the wastegate. What am I missing? Is there a
reason I should consider changing the stock wastegate spring tension
/preload given my particular circumstances? What improvement should I
expect to see / feel? Are there risks involved (are safeguards by-passed)?
