[s-cars] Is taking the head off difficult?

Oops, overheating can be bad news, Ed. If the HG is bad, it is MANDATORY
that you get the head checked for warping before putting it all back
together again.
A friend just went through this with his '92 Camry. He noticed it
overheating and thought he could ease it home by watching the temp gauge.
He was wrong. The shop replaced the rad, WP, thermostat and t-belt. He
hadn't gone 20 km when he blew the new rad apart. The head was warped so
bad you could remove some head bolts by hand. He ended up scrapping the car
- hey, he wanted a new Swedish Brick anyway.

Yes, Igor is the man! All of this information is
wonderful.
I feel that I could do the job under the right
circumstances, however, time is the limiting factor
and I just don't have the experience to calculate the
amount required for *me* to do the job.
I have another appt. with the dealer on the 26th....
Hopefully they diagnose the turbo or something else.
But I think it will be the HG. I was looking through
some records and noticed the car was in for repair
about 7,000 miles ago. The trouble? The car
overheated due to a bad thermostat... :-(
