[s-cars] Anyone get water in the trunk?

I had a leak like this on my 93 S4 last year.
The passenger side plastic taillight lens had some
hairline cracks around the lock cylinder. I replaced
the lens and haven't had any leakage since.
These cracks were very small so I'm not positive if
they were the source of the leak. However, the
original seal between the lens and the trunk lid
appeared to be intact all around the periphery
when I pulled it off, so it appears that the cracks
were causing the leak
You could also be getting a leak at the rubber bushing
between the lock cylinder and the hole in the taillight lens.
You could try getting a new bushing or putting some
sealant around the area (after taking off the lock cylinder
from the inside).
If you don't want to spend the money for a
new lens, you could also try taking of the old lens
and putting on a new seal. I would use butyl rod
caulk or something similar. Don't use silicone
caulk because you'll never get it completely off
without stripping off some of the paint.
