Just installed a -110 Bosch bypass valve in my '93 S4 following the MTM ECU
upgrade and the recommended 6-turn wastegate adjustment. Once the car was
warmed up, gave it a few hard on/off throttles and seems like most of the
"honk" was gone with the stock valve -- great!. Got on the highway and gave
it a hard accel when suddenly heard a "pop" followed by hissing and little
power. Wow, those stock turbo hoses didn't last long, did they? Sure hope
the Samco GP hoses will be here soon....

And now I have how to go to the S-Fest at Paul K's without my car!?!?

Was surprised to find when I popped the hood that the new Bosch bypass valve
"blew its lid", the spring and diaphragm were lying on top of the bottom
engine cover. I couldn't believe how poorly the two halves of the plastic
valve body were attached, very little adhesive.. I'm sure thepartsbin.com
will do good on them, not so sure I want another one just like it if it's
from the same production run. Might run a bead of epoxy at the seal to
reinforce it, but seems bogus to have to do that to a brand new part.

Anyone else have this happen to them?

I put the original valve back in and I'm back in business. See you all at
the S-Fest on Saturday! Paul, I may pop in on Friday night at 10 or so and
have a beer with the earlybirds.
