Hey Hap,
On the Turbo Smart valves they "appear" to be Blow-Off valves vs. By-Pass valves. Now I suppose that that is fine with someone like yourself running a Locomotive sized turbo..but what about some of us K24/K26 guys? Would the engine run rich as the MAF would read more flow to the engine then it is really getting since your a venting that "metered" air to the atmosphere?
Cheers

The TurboXS valves are adjustable internally via shims. A simpler solution is
the TurboSmart valve which is adjustable externally. Although others on the
list have insisted that an adjustable valve is not necessary, I have found
them to be required for precise tuning of the bypass function(no wise cracks
please;-)). I recently pulled 2 of my shims from my TurboXS valve to enhance
my turbo spool between shifts and found instead that I had encountered, once
again, the upper boost surging from the bypass valve. I reinstalled the 2
shims and the problem disappeared. I am planning to do some replumbing of my
I/C intake system with larger hoses and I will replace the TurboXS with the
TurboSmart valve. HTH.
