[s-cars] Siren under hood....

Hey guys,

I was so busy cracking myself up posting my earlier note (I need help) that I forgot to ask the question....

Which is,  prior the the NE S-fest I hadn't run my car (94 s4) for about a week. Hey it hadn't been cleaned in a while and once I got going I didn't want to get it dirty... 8-(     Anyway, the first time I started it, I got a quick puff of blackish smoke which cleared pretty quick but then once on the road, I noticed the first time the turbo started building boost, the turbo had a different kind of whine to it. Actually it sounds almost like a police siren !  and its been like that since.

The details are, it still builds good boost. No power loss. No smoke. nothing out of the ordinary just this different siren kind of sound.
Oh and, a few weeks ago we were comparing how much vacuum at idle we were pulling and I would normally see around 15"s and most all others said they see 17-20"s.  Well now I see 20"s   at idle...  What did I do ?
