If you want to check Chad's hypothesis you could back probe the 02 sensor at
the computer with a prtable O-scope and see what the waveform looks like
when you let off the gas.  Just a thought.

  The symtoms you describe sound kind of like what I experienced when my o2
sensor crapped out. Kind of a part throttle hesitation when first getting on
the gas. I had a code stored when this happened. Don't remember the exact
code but it had something to do with air/fuel out of spec. With a dead PSO
you lose a cylinder. Really bad miss intermitantly at first and more
constant
as it gets worse. PSO usually won't store a fault code.
