The turbo output should connect to the side fitting of the BPV. Positive
pressure during boost helps keep the BPV closed.

installing it wrong....BTDT..and had the goose sound also.

One thing to check:
I recently discovered the person that owned my car before me had the bypass
valve in backwards.  No real bad symptoms just a sound like a dying goose
when coming off the gas.  I discovered this when I looked at my '91 200 and
the valve was in different from my S4.  Since the S4 made noise and the '91
didn't I figured the '91 was correct.  I changed the BPV orientation to
mimic the '91 and the goose must finally be dead because I don't hear him
anymore :)
