Dear Members,
I am in the process of installing a 6-speed, and am looking into putting an aluminum flywheel during the install. I've contacted the manufacturer, and he is willing to do a group purchase. This is the same flywheel used by several of our high horse power listers, and they are happy with it. If you have questions that are not answered by the info below, post it to the list, and maybe they will answer them. I don't want to post their names for fear that they might get bombarded with questions.
Here is what I know:
The regular price is $950 (up $50 due to increased manufacturing costs)
The GP price will be $800each for a total quantity of between 5 and 9
The GP price will be $750each for 10 or more
I make $0, and I will pay the same GP price as you
Once the list is put together, I will hand the list to him, and he will contact you for payment.
You can pay with a Credit Card
Shipping is not included, and will be based on weight, distance, and shipping method
There are none in stock, and production will begin after the GP is closed
Manufacture time will be about 2 weeks, and not to exceed 3 weeks.
The flywheel will only fit the S4 AAN motor (actually it will fit the 3B, but the 3B tranny will not work)
The flywheel is made from high quality aluminum
It weighs 11 lbs (I think the stock dual mass weighs in the upper 20's, maybe a lister can comment on this)
Both the ring gear and the clutch mating surface are made of steel
The clutch mating surface is replaceable
The flywheel comes zero balanced
He offers a center force clutch and pressure plate for an additional 475. He says that this is a pass through cost, and makes no money on it. I thought I saw a lister offering one for 360 a while back saying that is was his cost on it. The only advantage buying it from him is that if you do, he will zero balance the entire assembly.
I've been told from current owners that the there is a noticeable difference in spool up. I've also been told that there is an audible vibration that can be heard between 2000 and 2300 rpm due to the solid unit (probably why Audi used the dual mass unit).
I have acquired some photos, and have posted them here:

I am going to close the group purchase on the 14th. Please email me off list if interested.
