Paul....I've got this retarded idea where you ask the question as I hear the
beautiful sound of a can of beer opening on a hot summer day after a long
day at the track, as a bunch of the boys sit around listening to "Torsen
Boy" tell his tales of Haldex and spiders....are you coming to Mid-Ohio this
year? I bet we can make it happen!

Hey, the Gods were looking down on me yesterday. I had to drive into
Manhattan for a meeting, and have been too busy/lazy to mount the snows on
the Avant. The roads here in NJ were Miserable. I'm getting on the NJ
turnpike following a new BMW 3 series, and we hit the top of the
overpass/entrance ramp and we've got glare ice. Bimmerboy's nose goes
into the guard rail on the right, and he's broadside across the road, with
me 50 ft behind at 20mph!!!!

I've got the ABS pulsing my pedal like mad, but nothing from the brakes and
nothing on the steering....Pump pump pump, twitch a few times the wheel,
and I get it pointed to the right of the Bimmer, but there aint no way to
bring it back. I glance off the left side guardrail, which pushes me right
back to the center of the road, beyond the BMW..Fuck!

I'm late for my meeting, and the steering feels fine, so I figure why bother
stopping, I'll see the carnage when I get into the city and pull into the
parking garage. I finally make it in, inspect the car.........and there's
not a scratch. Absolutely nothing -- not on the tire, rim, fender, etc.
I'm thinking "this is impossible", but it's true. Thank you, Audi Gods! I
love this friggin car!

Bob (Seriously considering how to make it out to Steamboat)
