I work at a garage in CT and we do mostly german cars.
 I used one of our sources but even at a dealer the
part is cheap.  Maybe Blaufernugen, The parts
connection.com also have them.  Remember that you only
need the plastic switched part on back not the whole
switch with tumblers etc.

The only tools needed are a phillips to undo the
cluster and a very small jewelers screwdriver to undo
2 screws the hold the swith onto the tumbler assembly.


BTW, Bob mentioned a good reason to fix the switch.
Killing the starter.  My brother had the problem and
never knew it till he killed his S6 starter. Cost a
tow, a starter and a switch.  Plus rental car etc.

On a 91 200 the engine cooling fan also won't work if
the switch fails to power accesories, same for A4/6s
with aux electric fans.
