I've been using paypal for nearly 3 years and love it. I use it more now
than my regular bank. It's essentialy credit card technology merged with
email. Once signed up you can upload and download money from your local
bank. Money you send to someone can come from your bank account or a
credit/debit card. If you get their ATM/debit card you can get cash or spend
paypal money anywhere and get 1.5% cash back. Just avoid the echeck method,
it blows.
It's cheaper fee wise than wiring money.
recipients never get your credit card info. Safe! Great for paying for Ebay
auctions and unknown persons
Instant. no waiting for snail mail
They are FDIC insured. Great if you leave money in the account
You're right their website doesn't lead you the detailed info. Here is their
help page

I probably sound like a salesman, but really I'm just quite happy with them.

Subject: [s-cars] Audi Paypal Transaction
OK guys, I'm in the midst of a potential Audi parts transaction. They
buyer has suggested Paypal. I don't know a thing about Paypal and their
website is in *desperate need* of a FAQ. Since this is not technically
Audi stuff, can you BTDTs contact me off list and tell me about Paypal.
Why PayPal instead of wiring money? A cashier's check? How does the
transaction work? Most importantly, how does the buyer get paid? TIA
for your help.
