[s-cars] S6 climate control 'squeek'

I suspect you have the same noise I have.

For a long time I thought it was the bearings in the climate
control ventilator fan, but I have come to believe that it is
the bearings in the little fan that is used to draw air into
a temperature sensor on the top of the dashboard.  See the
little vent holes top dead center on the top?

Below that is a little tube and a fan to suck in a controlled
amount of air.  This fan is famous for going bad.  Mine is doing
is at only 63k miles.  I think it's the time more than the miles.

I'm not sure how you get to this sucker to change it.
It might be possible to get to it with the instrument panel out.
I forgot to look when I replaced my ignition switch a few months ago.
