Olyller:
Here's my understanding on the fuel line recall:
What they do is replace the fuel line, and then remove as much of the old fuel line as they can. However since it is well-bracketed in, the official Audi procedure seems to be to cut off as much as they can, crimp it closed, and leave the rest there to look pretty. Other than looks and a few ounces of added weight to the vehicle, there's no need to removed the old line completely, hence them not wanting to spend any of their money to do it.
Sounds like the repair was done "normally", and you have nothing to worry about.
Cheers,
Keith

Is anyone sure of what is replaced when the dealer performs the fuel line recall?
Aren't there three lines between the tank and the strut tower?
Are all three lines in use? The dealer (Jim Ellis, Atlanta) crimped one of the lines closed and cut off the end......THAT DOESN'T SOUND/LOOK RIGHT! What is the dealer doing (What they call a repair)? Simply replacing an entire line or one end of it? Want to gather all the know how before I return to TALK! Also found the end that they crimped off, left in the cowling.
