I may be WOB here, but swap out your wastegate
springs. It could be that the previous owner was
using a tighter spring and this coupled with
mismatched software would cause the bucking. BTDT
with Tap Stage II software, but stage I hardware.
Threw my car into limp mode all the time. I was
replacing vacuum line and intake hoses for months
before I finally gave in and had Ned put in IA III+,
which I've since swapped out for the happy, happy,
ever so unsmooth on 94 octane MTM 1+. Anyways, check
your intake system for leaks, swap out the WG spring
with your 93 (assuming stock spring on 93), pressure
test the system and maybe even get an overpriced BPV.
While you're in there, might as well get an RS2 setup,
too.

PS-You know you want it.
