Ahh yes, you gotta love Italian wheels that orginate in Germany.
I've bolted on the 17x7.5 et 43 factory 9 spoke wheel and it cleared the
330mm big reds no problemo.
These replicas are most likely et35s and would provide huge amounts of
brake clearance. They will be pretty heavy too though (although I've
heard claims of ~22 pound replica 18s, and that doesn't seem right as
the factory 17 is ~28 pounds). Buyer beware.
The 18x8.5 et25 (or is it 20?) factory RS4 wheel was pretty soft (and
still heavy), and shouldn't be confused with any of the other 17, 18, 20
factory offerings or any of the many replicas.
I did see a set of 16" replicas offered for same from a Euro retailer.
If anyone sees something similar in the US, lemme know.
Also, since we are on the subject, I am looking for a set of used 18"
BBS CH. Cosmetics unimportant (in fact, I'd prefer a less expensive
scratched up set), although I'd prefer they be straight & true.
BTW, I've had the 17x7.5 Audi / BBS RCs on the car for a couple months
now. I like 'em a lot. They look great, are lightweight, and have a nice
"winter offset" that keeps the 225s tucked nicely into the bodywork (I'm
not a mudflap kinda guy).
