I am an avid fan of the Turbo XS bypass valves because they have the
adjustment capability. I am running the larger RBV-34 valve. The larger size
wasn't an issue for me since all my charge air plumbing is custom stuff
anyway. When I installed it I had to make numerous runs to as you say "tune
it". I kept on adding the shims until I didn't have that upper end boost
flutter. I still get a good "chiff" sound at each shift so I know the
internal spring is not too stiff. BTW I ran out of the shims that were
provided and had to use one large washer of equivalent size to get to the
final spring tension required by my turbo's flow.
