[s-cars] Dust sleeve removal?

I'd install the dust boots if you can, Aaron. I got the same story from the
dealer years ago when they forgot to replace the boot on a front shock on
my '86 5ktq. They said it wasn't needed, couldn't be done without stripping
the strut, yada, yada,yada.
Having the shaft run up and down in a load of sand didn't seem to be a good
way of ensuring the longevity of shaft or seal, so I installed the boot
myself, with the strut in the car.
Will the stock boots fit onto the Bilsteins?

I had my local tire shop install my bilsteens and they left the boots
off. They said they are not really needed as the shock shafts are
plated etc etc...
I think this is bull but they are offering a lifetime warrantee on the
shocks so?....
Im wondering if I should install some new boots regardless - It would be
nice for the next owner who wont have the warrantee.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Aaron
