[s-cars] Plumbing for boost gauge

Hello Bob, yeah I agree the digital LED gauge w/ the "bar" markers vs. the
little dots that the Split Second gauge I currently have, looks just like
the Cyberdyne gauge.

I am kind of more interested in the analog version & its claim to
"...integrated buffer circuitry for steady readings...."

Probably ditto (slightly distracting?) for the digital read out gauges
(constantly scaling numbers?) unless it also has some kind of a damper or
averaging function to steady the numerical readout.

Nice that the numerical digital gauge comes in an Amber light option. The
SPA dual EGT/Boost gauge that I've currently got installed in my Green car
(at the time I got the gauge) was only available in a green LED's.

FWIW, I think having an EGT gauge, especially if you have pushed your boost
up to stratospheric levels, is pretty nice. Unfortunately, at least for
me, mounting the EGT probe in the recommended "before the turbo" exhaust
manifold location, would be more than I personally would want to take on.
Fortunately, it was done by someone with a lot more experience & tools that
I have.

In a second, FWIW I too "thought" I didn't like pillar mounts (the original
Autometer mechanical boost gauge was in a pillar mount pod) so...., we
pulled the dash to have the A/F LED's taken out of the Split Second meter
(it uses a 10 light system vs. the 16 (?) or so plus of say the Autometer
A/F gauges) & installed directly in the Instrument cluster in, I guess, it
would be the Automatic transmission selector pod indicator would go if it
were a slush box A6. Well, IMO, at least with the SPA backlight system
etc., in the dash, where the clock used to be, is NOT the best place for a
Boost/EGT gauge, especially a digital display version. (a) the colors don't
match (that's correctable, SPA now makes an Amber/Red version of the gauge);
(b) you have to take your eyes off the road to watch the boost levels etc.;
& (c) I didn't realize how much I used and now miss the in dash clock until
it was gone. Personally, as "ricer-ish" as it sometime may seem, I've come
to think putting the boost gauge, mechanical or digital, in the B Pillar is
the best location.

~Their digital (LED bar graph) A/F gauge appears to be identical to the
~Cyberdyne unit available from JCW for about $5 less.
