I think you need to go to a dealer and get the number.. Give them the
serial number from the radio and be prepared to present some doc's
showing ownership of the car. It was a real PITA but they got the code
for me. I don't know if there is a generic unlock code or not. The
dealer wouldnt tell me if there was.

I had this problem with a VW a couple years ago.
