For what it's worth, a comment on Porsche 911 evolutions ...
Back when the racing Porsches were (loosely) based on the street
cars, it was common for people to want body styles that resembled
the racing cars. Nothing new there :-)
The 930 Turbo was an 'improved' 911, that included large flares
on the fenders - both front and rear. This was to accomodate
much wider wheels and tires on the race cars. The slope nose
930 was yet another carry over from racing. In the days when the
Porsche 935s were winning right and left, that body had the sloped
off nose without headlights since it had less wind resistance.
Consequently, when Porsche started producing a few 930s with that
nose, and charged a bunch more for it, there were people that
lusted after that one.
I don't think angularity or rounded corners had anything to do with
what was seen as desirable.
FWIW, I don't like the Audi rounded off back ends either.
