[s-cars] Mobil 1 / other high performance oils

Hey Pram,
      I also had a 2001 with ABT Stage 1 ECU. The turbo issues with the 2000 S4's were several things I will list below :

*	#1 Too small of Oil Inlets to the turbos revised turbos 9/00 Builds (Thin weight oil a plus here)

		*	Worn Shafts (overheat)

*	F-Hose Prone to rupture
*	Throttle Body Boot Tore easly due to thin material and fault hose clamps (Over spool)
*	2000 Shipped with 10W-30 Oil...In 2001 started to ship from the factory with M1 0w-30
*	710A BPV prone to ripping thus causing "turbo" shock when shiftiing 710N Revised TT BPV

I think that a 0w-40 would be a perfect weight for a 2000-2002 S4 or if you are "racing" the car I would look towards the 10W-40 as long as you are very "kind" to the engine at start-up and let her warm up properly (as you suggest).

Anyways that is what I know ;-) Besides I drive a 1992 UrS4 now and going with Amsoil 20W-50 Series 2000.

	A colleague of mine at work had his 2000 S4 turbos replaced by the
	dealer due to worn bearings (turbo squeals with increase in engine rpm)
	at 25kmiles. He was following Audi oil recommendations and uses M1
	5W-30 every 5kmiles. He had Hoppen stage 1 ECU upgrade at 4.5kmiles.
	Car is in SoCal, hence exposed to the triple digit ambient air sometimes.

	I would avoid using the light 0W-30 M1 on modified turbo Audi.

	Personally, I use either Redline 10W-40 or Motul 8100 5W-40 or 10W-40 in
	all my cars except my Honda Odyssey which specify 5W-20 ( I use M1
	0W-30).
