Mark,

Dwayne at Hancock told me this afternoon that their compressors come "dry",=
so they're ready for either R12 or R134A. (I forgot to ask about the coola=
nt connector on the compressor - the connector is different between R12 and=
R134A. Best case would be for it to come with both.) It occurs to me that =
after flushing/cleaning required for the Hancock warranty, this would be a =
good time to convert to 134a, which is much cheaper. Here, R12 is about $50=
per pound. I'm curious if you're thinking about making the change. I'm con=
sidering it.

Hello Mark,

Thanks for sending this to me. I'm assuming this is the price for a rebuild=
, no? Also, do you recall the Zexel compressor model # in our cars? (I'm at=
work and car is home) I'd like to call Hancock but should have the correct=
#. I also like the idea of staying with the original.

Thanks again,
Steve

Steve,

I just posted this to the list, but here you go.

There were a bunch of you out there that wanted to know the results of my A=
/C compressor findings. After calling all over the place, I decided to go =
with Hancock Industries. http://www.hancockindustries.com/ Joe another S=
-lister refered me to them. They use the Zexel compressors as compared to =
others out there who use different brands. I like to stick with what was o=
riginal. They had the best prices. If I remember right it was $375, the r=
eceiver/drier was also the best price. After all is said and done, that pu=
ts the price at just over $400 when I return the core. Not to bad for what=
 I found elsewhere.

Hope this helps the others out there who are driving their version of the A=
udi Oven.

P=2ES. The listers here are great. Bill sent out his spare Michellin Man =
hose for me to use until my Samcos arrive. Thanks again Bill.
