Joe:
The outer housings for both the Euro and the Dot are the same. (In fact the
housing for the urs4 and urs6 are the same too, only the lenses and internal
trim are different.) The "reflector module", for lack of a better name,
is different on the USA versus Euro. It doesn't matter though, because this
is what you swap out. It doesn't make sense to pay extra for euro's then
swap it out to get back to the same point.
If you imagine the perimeter of the refectory module as a clock, the Ur
mounting points might be at 2&10, 5&7, while the new A6 xenon mounting
points might be 2:30, 9:30, 4:30, and 7:30. Also, the new A6 xenon module is
oval shaped -- longer than it tall -- and the Ur module is round. A bracket
needs to be made to adapt one mount pattern to the other. Also, because of
the change in shape, new module lower mounting point needs to be moved or it
will interfere with the reflector for the Ur fog lamp. It's not that hard
once you are in there. I just used a 79 cent galvanized electrical box
cover as stock to make the bracket. The wiring is simple -- remove the
yellow and brown from the Ur bulb holder, cut an opening to fit the snap-in
door/with harness from the new, and splice to the yellow and black that go
the ballast power supply.
The project isn't as easy as swapping out the intermittent wiper relay, but
it wasn't so difficult either. I'm hoping Igor is out there watching and
will volunteer to do a proper drawing of the bracket and post it for all.

Subject: HID's?
Bob-
Sorry about that blank e-mail I just sent. Just a bit
anxious in seeing how in the hell you transplanted
those A6 HID's into our housings. Are you using Euro
housings or DOT's? Think I could check them out to
see how the install went? Very curious. Maybe we can
take a look at them if you head up to Paul's house in
August, should be fun.
Please advise,
Joe
