Morning all-
One large sweeping response here:
RE: 1/4 mile times... I'll be heading to NH for our annual 2 weeks at the
beach 8/3-8/17, which just HAPPENS to be 20 miles away from New England
Dragway in Epping... hmmm...
Wed. night is "street night", open to the public for $15 and a helmet. I'll
be there again this year, trying to calibrate my AC-22 in my //S6, though
will NOT be dropping the clutch hard, not worth it just to post some 'cool
times' to the list the next week, heh heh.
Anyone interested in meeting me there 8/7 & 8/14? Last year (forgive me) I
ran it in my 2.3-16, and had my bro in his S320 (ever see an S class drag?),
2 CT buds in their 500E's, and 2 MA bud's in a 400E and a 300CE meet me
there, we had a little Star party. How about an //S contingency there this
year??? C'mon, join me for a couple burns down Epping's finest...
RE: clutches-
-Anyone else happen to notice BOTH Bill Mahoney and "Airbill" BOTH recently
toasted their clutch slaves / masters, seemingly simultaneously? And now
they're BOTH relegated to their respective '75 Targas? Hmmm... conspiracy I
tell you!!!!! Seems like a pathetic excuse to log some quality P-time to me
boys... heheheheh...
RE: BOSE-
-HA! Tom! I was BITING my tongue (keyboard? fingertips?) here! I too
think my Bose is just fine, and have had many 'built' stereos in my time.
I've also got the Lifestyle 12 system @ home, which is fabulous. For me.
But, diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks I guess. Having the windows down
pretty much all the time would make having a 'finer' system useless in my
car. Besides, I find myself enjoying the turbo whine / BPV whoosh / exhaust
burble Symphony most of the time anyways... can't think of a better 'sound
system' for me (I dig that Boxster S mag ad that alludes to the very same
point, totally relate).
RE: front end clunks-
-I think Gary's got the right idea, and I'd also check the tq on pretty much
all the rest of the hardware up there, including the front 'hub' 27mm bolt
(don't ask why I know, BOB R. and Joe P. know!). It does sound like wheel
bearing-ish symptom, but is likely just something loose as you're right, it
would likely whir if it were bearing related.
TTFN, it's a sunny mid-summer Friday, and looks like it's time to "go see a
client"...
