Nahh ... they are complaining about the Ferrari service intervals.
A couple years back friend was lusting after a Ferrari Testa Rosa. So I
did a little checking on it at a Ferrari shop I know.
We all know about changing timing belts, and what happens when you skip
this vital service.
Let me tell you about the Ferrari Testa Rosa timing belt service schedule.
Ferrari says to change the timing belts and to adjust the valves every
10,000 miles or every three years, whichever comes first. Now that in
itself is very often, but does not sound insurmountable.
Until you find out that the engine has to be removed for access to the
timing belts and to adjust the valves. If I remember correctly, the
friend was quoted about $6,000 for this little operation.
After this revalation and other discussions with the shop's proprietor,
he decided he'd upgrade his AMG sedan to a Mercedes with more cylinders.
