[s-cars] Audi Club Event at the Glen - 7/15 & 7/16

Hi all.

So, after doing Lime Rock with the Porsche club with Taka (who kicked a** i=
n his first event!), I just got back from Watkins Glen, and it was a blast.=
 Two days of high speed, great weather, many Audi fanatics, and war stories=
. Plus dinner at a winery thrown in.

I met a bunch of listers, including Colin (sp?), Chris Smith (who unfortuna=
tely had a shunt, but was OK), Tom Saltino, Bob Pastore and his brother, Ph=
il Ackley, and others. I am TERRIBLE with names, and I'm sure there were a =
lot more folks than I mentioned, so speak up!

The best part was seeing all the cool Audis, including two beautiful S2s an=
d some great rally cars. To top that, lots of S-cars, and seeing and hearin=
g them on the track was great! It was like "hmmm.so THAT'S what my car look=
s and sounds like when it's going fast!" Having never seen more than two to=
gether at any one time, it was a very cool sight.

My car and I did fine, but we got "tired" on the second day so I packed it =
in a bit early. Rotor warp, tires moving on the rims and going out of balan=
ce, brief check engine light showing lean/rich fuel condition as fault code=
 (thank you Bob!), and significant heat soak. Nothing major, but I did not =
want to push too hard and truly break something.

I was not able to get water injection system installed in time for this eve=
nt, so nothing to report. Bob Pastore and I are racing to see who gets it i=
nstalled first. On another note, if you are choosing between Kumho Victorac=
er or Ecsta track tires, go with the Victoracers. The Ecstas suck compared =
to the VRacers, in my humble opinion.

On the bright side, I passed a few Porsches (and a lot of Audis), and had a=
 good time with great company.

I am going to sleep now. Phew. :)
