[s-cars] Trouble with secondary electric cooling fan

No idea. But you can service the fan without removing the bumper (BTDT).
The bumper is actually pretty easy to remove, but any way, if you remove the
cross member that runs from fender to fender over the radiator and
headlights, you can actually pivot the rad/condenser forward giving you
enough space to pull the fan out. I don't have all the details since I did
it about 2 years ago, but it can be done.

Good luck

Hi Guys !

I'm a newbie from Paris, France and own a '96 RS2 and a '94 S4 (my daily
driver). I have a problem with the S4 : the a/c kicks in and out as the
secondary electric cooling fan that is running when the a/c is on is not
working. A/C relay is ok (n°217 in the relay box under the hood), fuses in
the fuse box on the side of the dash are ok, a/c compressor kicks in and
produces cold allright when the car is moving but it will let the car
overheat in traffic because this &"éé''é" fan is not running. The high
pressure switch kicks in when it has to, disengaging the compressor when it
gets too hot in there. The only thing I haven't done so far is sending 12v
straight into the fan but this involves removing the front bumper, which is
not easy... Any idea ?

Thanks,

Matt
