Mmm, Rod, the kit that I've put together for my car has absolutely
nothing to do with BIRA :)
It is a product of my crawling around the car's supension with a
Mitutoyo digital caliper and then sourcing the RS2 brackets from Russia,
the 928gts calipers from Crescent, pads from Darin, SS lines from Earl's
Indy and the rotors from you-know-who :)
OTOH, now that you've mentioned it, I feel that a Porsche (or Colman)
ring + a custom Aluminium hat may be a better solution. And that's where
I will be going once I kill the S8 rotors.
The problem is I have somehow managed to warp them to the point that the
wheel wobbles with light braking. The wobbling kcompletely stops once
you increase the foot pressure. Oh, and they do stop the car like a
sumbitch. To compare them with the G60 is like my new cable internet
with the dialup that I used to have. Like they say, there is no going
back once uyou've experienced it.
I am puzzled as to why did the rotors warp. They are the proper German
made Zimmermanns (thx again, BTW!), I had them slotted and I had them I
think properly bedded in for ~200 miles or so. The only other thing that
I've done to them was painting the hub with a grey 1700F barbeque grill
paint for rust prevention.
