Yes, I had a similar problem with my Dash panel LCD display... As Len had
mentioned I used a liquid chemical product called "Stabilant 22A". It is
a contact enhancer (quite different then a cleaner or lubricant)... it
improves the electrical connection on an IC or a soldered point by 100% to
500%. It does not break down or evaporate, thus you will only need one
application for the life of your car! I basically removed the IC that was
mounted on the back of the dash, exposing the back panel of the main IC
and then I spread Stabilant 22A on everything that was an electrical
connection... IC paths, solder points, chips, resistors, connectors, etc.
It worked great for me, I was having 2 problems with that panel, and it
seems to have cleared them both up and like Len mentioned -- it is
actually brighter as well. Check out their web site "www.stabilant.com".
Regarding the removal of the dash... it is quite easy, I think there is a
good description on the urS4.com page..
