Paul,
Just havin' fun. I figured your humor would prevail!
Yeah, when those chiles come out, I'm going to need more than water injection.

Ouch Jeff. Back off on da beans and espresso for bfast! I'd hope I'd get a
touch more credit than that.
Please note my last post and the reference to "breaking out my AC-22"

Paul,
Forgive me in advance, I had green chiles for breakfast today and stout
coffee.
What I've enjoyed most about this list is some level of technical relevance
in addition to empirical results shared. Reading you mail it's not exactly
clear how you're going to help your friend. Sorry to hear he is in customer
support mode. Many MTM buyers are now having a blast.
"Brian (also Mr. F355) recently installed an RS2 tbo, EM, and chippies from
Hoppen" or
"I suggested he stop futzin' around already and go get the Ecam, MAF, and
inj's and get it over with."
Having ridden in one completed RS2 car in my experience, it whoops ass on
any first stage MTM or IA ECU change specifically referring to the first
~$600 step.
My car included.
But it has to be confirmed, built from a known performance point, and not
just a bunch of parts hung on a block and ignited.
So may I ask you, when you DO take that ride with your friend, add some
scientific relevance.. buy or borrow a G-Tech device to augment your
subjective opinion. Measure you car, measure his car... compare that with
your butt-dyno, do a first step analysis. Do something more than guess!
Whereas that G-Tech is not the end-all for BHP measurement, at least you'll
have some (easy to apply) test point to refer to before and after.probably
within +/-20% Seat of the pants is like arm chair quarterback, 20/20
hindsight stock picks, opinions vary widely
To help you friend you might want to turn him over to an analytical minded
mechanic who can establish some point of reference and diagnose his
situation.
Jeff Posto, now awaiting for the return blast, all in the spirit of adding
Mexican spice to the list this morning.

OK, I'll attempt to post a non-opinion laden question here-
My wholesaler friend Brian (also Mr. F355) recently installed an RS2 tbo,
EM, and chippies from Hoppen. Yes, the same one who's experienced numerous
back and forth problems with the ECU not working recently.
ANYway, he calls me last night and says the car is finally running (after
they asked him to help trouble shoot another client's ECU for them... Paul
F., could this be yours? It sounded similar...). ANYanyway, he says he
doesn't REALLY feel THAT much of a difference in power, etc., and most
certainly not $2g's worth. He's asked me to drop over when I can (been
tough, wife been demanding baby shopping!) to take it for a burn to
determine whether my seat-o-da-pants confirms his or not. He's concerned I
guess that Hoppen may have again muffed the MTM programming...
My question is, is there anyone here who's done this same set up who can
speak to the net results achieved? I suggested he stop futzin' around
already and go get the Ecam, MAF, and inj's and get it over with. Of
course, it's always funner to spend OTHER people's $$$...
