Hi Yoda S-Guys,
I have a 96//S6 with an Apexi boost controller, it came with the car that I=
purchased only 3-4 months ago....anyway, a friend of mine had it for a week
while I had his truck,( I know, thou shalt not lend) when I got it back, th=
e coolant light was flashing, I topped it up and it stopped, but also notic=
ed that I was not producing boost. My buddy, whom I believe, said he did n=
ot drive it hard, nor did he think it was running funny. It runs great, but=
my Apexi, which use to show
boost of almost 1.25, now gets to only .5 on hard accelaration, gone is th=
e noticeable whistle and neck snap. I did notice
about a month ago that at about 140 k/hr and wide open throttle, it hesitat=
ed a bit, I put some injector cleaner in thinking maybe I had got
some bad gas. It has been really hot here, + 28 -32 celcius. The aux fan =
never seems to cut in, I swapped some same relays around and still
nothing, if it is out, does it shut down the turbo? I looked to see if a =
hose was off somewhere, but that would be too easy and couldn't see anythin=
g and
air filter seemed to look okay. I have not taken it in yet to check the fa=
n or the relays. The apexi boost settings look okay and everything seems t=
o be working fine on the controller, but I may be missing something. I have=
the list of things that cause low boost from the Auto-technik site, but mo=
st of them look
beyond my means. It is going into the dealer to have the dreaded fuel line=
repaired, as I have a seping leak, maybe this is causing my problem? Any=
thoughts?? ...I have limited my driving until I get the fuel line fixed. A=
t least if I could narrow it down I might save some tech time at the dealer.
Any advice would be appreciated....thanks
Boostless in Saskatchewan,...(and no, I don't think it's plugged with grass=
hoppers!)
Randy
