Don't laugh but a Citroen 2CV Sahara (Twin motors version) was sold at an
auction for 41000 dollars !!!!

I heard for Bastille day there was a Citroen 2CV parade in NY. Is it true
????

Regards,
Frederic

Now that you mention it Frederic, I think a highly tweaked & tuned 2CV would
be perfect. http://www.citroentuning.de/index_e.htm or
http://www.citroentuning.de/theory.htm

As I recall, originally designed to allow French farmers to get their eggs
to market unbroken, the 2CV must have at least 2 or 3 meters of rear
suspension travel. Unlike the hydraulically challenging advanced models,
the 2CV's got little to repair other than to slip the rubber band back
around the drive pulley if it falls off. Plus, its economical, corrugated
tin can construction will permanently endear Peter to those tight fisted,
parsimonious Nor'Easterners from Maine. Note to Paul K., no flashy NYC
investment Banker, Ferrari lover types need apply, unless Peter needs
someone along for the ride to provide a little extra push to get the 2CV up
the steeper sections.

~I recommend a Citroen GS with pneumatic suspension set to high. This is the
~ultimate car for Off Road. Nobody ele than you in North America will have
~one !!!!!
~Otherwise a Citroen C6 Chenillette (used in the 30s to go from Paris to
~Pekin for the "yellow cruise") if also extremely efficient. Somebody in my
~mother family owns one, 30 minutes of driving this thing off road will
~request 2 days of sleep to recover from the effort. beyond belief !!!!
