Have you tried running the program in compatibility mode to see if that
fixes
the problem?

I don't know about W2K but XPPro has a compatibility mode that I can
force
programs to run in W95 "mode," very helpful w/ old DOS/early Windows
programs (I tried to get Grand Prix Legends to work, didn't run
properly,
corrupted software I think).

DMA and BIOS calls were eliminated in NT, that's why it's much more
stable, forces all programs to "behave," so to speak.
