[s-cars] valentine one placement

According to an article in C&D a while back about laser, the beam spreads
out to about six feet diameter at 1000 ft, so anywhere the V1 can see out
should be fine.

Just a thought on the whole radar placement issue:

Remember, a laser beam's spread pattern is at most about 1 foot wide.
Placing the detectors much higher than the very base of the windshield near
the dash will impact the detector's ability to react to a laser encounter.
Makes sense, might want to think about keeping 'em lower than visor /
mirror, IMHO.

Though, here in CT is exclusively laser. As I've said before, the best
laser detector, Valentine or whatever, might as well not 'beep' when you go
through a trap... it'd might as well just barf out the dollar amount of the
ticket you're going to get "TWO-HUNDRED-EIGHTY-NINE-DOLLARS!!!". My S came
with K40 hardwired discreetly, and I don't even bother using my Passport
8500 for the laser feature, it's futile. FIGHT THE POWER!

Sad but true...
