Michelin Pilot Sport
Bridgestone Potenza S-03
Toyo T1-S
Yokohama AVS Sport
Sumitomo HTR-ZII
Dunlop SP9000

These would be on my short list- the SP9k and the HTR-ZII are
rather quiet, if that's your main priority.

IMHO, the Pilots are the best, but big bucks, relatively. The S-03s
are slightly cheaper and the Sumitomos are the cheapest. I don't like
the SP9k dry handling- they slide a lot when pushed hard. Haven't driven
the S-03, can't comment on that or the T1-S. AVS Sport get noisy as they
get old, so be warned, although I love their dry and wet handling.

Subject: [s-cars] all around good replacement tires for 2000 S4

I'm going to have to admit ignorance on this one - but I have reached
that point where I need to replace the OEM tires on my 2000 S4 and need
some advice from all on what people would recommend buying.  I had the
Potenza RE040's that came originally with the car, and got about 20k out
of them (is that normal with these tires?).  What brands and makes of
tires would people suggest looking into, and how much should I expect to
pay?  Also, how much wear should I get out of tires like this?  This is
the first time I've bought new performance tires, so I'm a little lost
here.  Any help would be much appreciated.

I live in Atlanta, so I'm looking for a good all around tire that isn't
loud, holds up well, but also has great handling and a good feel.  Any
suggestions anyone?

Thanks in advance.
Bryan Sung
