Being spark plug boy for an hour, I called up to Bosch Automotive in MI
this AM in a quest for their latest upgrade to the F5DPOR.
Short answer, surely known by "old" listers, is that there is NONE.
I actually got to speak with "Hans" and while he was somewhat difficult
to understand, things he mentioned about this plug are, double platinum,
durability, VG heat range and "smallest to fit in there," whatever that
means. I should have asked about the "unintented self
loosening/ejecting" feature but didn't think of it. I wonder if this is
mostly a feature of increased boost cars (caused by higher heat/
compression,) or true of stock AND modified S cars? Any engineer /
physicist listers know this answer?
So, I asked what they might have on the drawing board to upgrade this
plug. Again, short answer NOTHING. He said a couple of times that this
is a small production/demand plug. (That is prolly a contributing
factor to it's high price IME.)
And, IMHO, it may not be a bad idea to stock up on a few @$11 or so.
Next: Anyone these "blue igniters high performance wires?"
