s-heads,

I have refrained from making this offer too soon so as not to disappoint any
fellow oversteer fanatics so, here we go. To be installed on my car this week
is a 26mm rear sway bar. This sway bar is powdercoated Porsche Big Red red
and has 3 end link holes giving it 3-way adjustability. It comes with
urethane bushings and matching collars of the required size. It also comes
with a much beefier heim joint which is the little rod with the 2 bolts on
either end. When the suspension tuner measured the stock bar he came up with
an equivalent spring action of about 26 lbs. This was due to the relatively
skinny 17mm dimension of the stock bar along with the width and the length of
the arms(longer arms and wider widths detract from a bar's ability to
counteract sway). The 26mm bar we're going with works out to about 140 lbs.

There is an initial group of 4 of us that are going with this 26mm bar and
I'm opening this up to anyone with a 1992 urS4 or with a later car and the
Pederhousen or other types of RSB retrofits available. The price for the 26mm
bar, heim joint, and urethane bushings with collars is $350 which includes
shipping to your door. The stock bar and the same fittings runs about
$275-$300 depending on the source you talk to. Other colors are available to
suit your driving or styling style. This offer will only last a couple of
weeks so let me know via e-mail off list if anyone is interested
(captmagu at aol.com).

As soon as the bar is mounted and I've driven the car, I will provide
pictures and impressions.

Hap, not exactly swaying in the breeze anymore in Evergreen, Maguire
