Michael:
The same happened to me last year. I found the shaft of the clutch master
cylinder had broken off.
Re: The repair, remember that the clutch master cylinder and brake master
cylinder share a common fluid reservoir. Be sure to have a container to
catch the fluid when you open the system. I posted a pretty funny story
about my BTDT, lying on my back in the drivers foot well, having to plug the
line with my finger after ATE super BLUE started gushing onto my carpet. I
then was able to barely reach my cell phone and had to call my wife from the
driveway, and beg her to bring out a container to catch the stuff. All
while my finger is plugging the hose. She of course had to ask 1,000
questions, wanting to know why I couldn't just come inside and do it myself.
Have fun.

Driving home today my clutch pedal went to the floor and stayed there. I
didn't really here any noise. I was able to driver about 15 miles home by
gently matching revs to shift and luckily not running into any stop signs or
lights (I love rural roads). I think I had this happen to my 4000. I'm
assuming its a clutch slave and master cylinder. I just wanted to check
with
everyone for any BTDT. I hoping this isn't a pressure plate or something
else. Like I said the pedal is at the floor, it happened all at once. My
clutch pedal has been a little on the stiff side since I bough the car about
a year ago. Assuming its a clutch slave or master, should I replace both
and
is there anything else to take care of while I'm there. Any BTDT would be
appreciated. Thanks.
