Believe the reality, if nothing else...You -cannot- get a V8 with a
manual now. Period. End of story. They haven't built a stick
"strong enough" to "handle" the NA 4.2...in any form. Audi claims
the torque/HP is "too much."
Doesn't mean I disagree with you...I fully feel the "technical"
argument offered by Audi is marketing spin best and an outright lie
at worst. It's simple; I'm sure Audi did some market research, and
found that those in the market for an RS6 wanted an automatic.
Face the music, folks. How many of us are in the market for an RS6?
I bet I can count the # of people on one hand.
Oh, and for whoever said "Audi is interested in building quiet space
ships that go with no noise", I suggest you listen to a '02 S6
avant's exhaust note some time. Not exactly whisper quiet.
