I also very much dislike the highly-rounded back ends.  Even if the styling
aspect is OK, it's so impractical, needing a tinnie trunk lid and taking
headroom away from the back seat.  The exercise that had me ending up with a
urS4 started with me looking at the 02 A4 and not liking what I found, this
styling and it's side-effects being one of the dislikes.  Now that Audi has
embraced maximum curviness, their only choice will be to start back toward
boxiness.  That means that in a few years all of our S-cars will look like
they're new!
