[s-cars] OEM jack sucks....what do people use otherwise?

I use good tires - and carry a piece of plank to go under the jack to keep
it from sinking into the asphalt or gravel shoulder and chocks for the
wheels to keep the car on the jack. I used the Audi jack roadside once on my
'91 200q when a Michelin separated the tread, and the jack was 2 inches down
into the hot asphalt before I got the wheel off and the spare on.
As you may have noted, you can't use the e-brake to hold the car if you are
changing a rear tire. When you pull the wheel bolts, the hub usually rotates
in the brake rotor (which is held by the e-brake) and the bolt holes don't
line up. You have to release the brake to line the holes up again. It is not
a good idea to fool around for any length of time while the car is up on the
OEM jack (30 seconds maximum sounds about right).
I use a floor jack at home.

its a fairly well-regarded fact that the audi oem jacks are non-ideal. what
do people use? i looked (briefly) at a bottle jack, but it said it needed
to be supported right quick after the car is jacked up.

what do people use? i dont want my car flopping down on the side of the
highway while using the oem jack......
