I'm looking for any help/suggestions in troubleshooting an airbag light tha=
t won't go off. It's actually on my wife's '92 100CS, which has the same ai=
rbag system as the '92 S4 (per Bentley). I realize this isn't strictly an S=
-car question, but since they have the same airbag system, I'm hoping peopl=
e may have BTDT, and be willing to help.

My problem came about in this way: 2 weeks ago I replaced the ignition swit=
ch to cure a tired return spring and, since I had the instrument cluster ou=
t, I also replaced some behind-the-dash bulbs. This work involved removing =
the airbag, steering wheel, steering column switchgear, instrument cluster,=
and lower dash pad (at the driver's knees). The job went smoothly. I caref=
ully reassembled, and the key now springs back correctly to the "run" posit=
ion after "crank", and the replaced bulbs work. BUT now, the airbag light w=
on't go out. This last weekend I took it apart again to see if I could spot=
anything that would cause an airbag malfunction, and I couldn't. I did hav=
e the ignition switch on when the airbag was out to test the new bulbs.

I just talked to the dealer (Stammler in Boulder) who said it needs to be r=
eset with the "computer". Does anybody know how I can do this myself?

Thanks
Steve
