Steve,

       I have a 92 S4.  Same thing with the airbag light.  I took it to the
dealer and they couldn't get the computer to talk and perform the reset.
They couldn't get it to shut off.  I finally did get it to shut off though as
I took out the IC and pulled the bulb.  Problem solved!   I don't really care
about the airbag as I am looking to change out the steering wheel with a S2
or RS2 wheel as soon as I can afford the $500.
