FWIW  After numerous bulb burnouts thru my first couple/few years of S6
ownership, I cranked DOWN the brightness to the minimal illumination
level I could live with.   I can only report that over the last 3 years
(knock on wood) I have had zero bulb burnouts :-)  Simple is usually
best.
