Eric,

The first time I changed my UrS4 oil filter I had the same problem.  I
ended up using a large pipe wrench (one for plumbing) and the filter
did get pretty deformed, however, I able to get it off.  At this point
you have two choices, bigger wrench with possibility of deform or
drive to pep boys/jiffy lube etc and have them do it.
