S-Heads,

To start, total count of those interested to date is 15 (anywhere from one
hose to full kits), sounds like enough interest for a GP!

My Samco contact confirmed the following this morning: "We have increased
the length of this hose and can fit rings if required."

Ok, here's the low down on those SFS hoses! read on...

I contacted them and had a good chat, nice fellows. They do NOT have a full
kit (3 hoses) available for the AAN engine, but they do have the Lower
Intercooler hose available: see here:

<http://www.urs4.com/logbook/reports/050802/DSCN0176_med.JPG> (thanks for
the pic Jimmy). He checked and he said they do carry some kits for the Audi
A4 and Audi 5000Q Turbo, but I don't think any of those hoses can be
reused?.

The SFS lower crossover pipe to intercooler in the picture is the right
length and has the chrome rings (he thought it was just for show, but most
liked it). Colors they have available: Red, Blue, Yellow, Florescent
Yellow, Florescent Green, Purple, and Black.

Note!: The price is exactly the same as Samco for this hose.

Yes, it's possible to have the other hoses made, but the rep said that it
will cost more per kit and of course will take longer. They would have to
get some sample hoses and make the "tooling", at which he estimates at about
£200 (British Pounds) plus the cost of the hoses, etc. So lets say over 15
people that increases the price of each hose by about £14 (20 US) per hose
plus your looking at extra cost of sending samples to them and the delay in
the tooling. Of course this could be an opportunity to have some special
designs included for increased flow rates (if that's possible?)... unless
one of the listers wants to step up to the plate and redesign us better
hoses I'd say it's cheaper and easier to stick with the Samco full kit.

So... the Samco hose length issue has already been addressed, and we could
ask for these "rings" if we wanted (not sure if they would charge more). It
would be simpler to get from one source. If the group consensus is to get
the lower crossover pipe to intercooler SFS hose and the other two from
Samco we could do this but it might cost us slightly more in shipping
charges in the end (plus the hassle...).

So that's the scoop to date, next step?

Cheers, /Jamu.

P.S. Haven't looked into MTM made by Venair, I have no contact info for
them. If anyone does please pass the info on or the contact and we can
compare what they have.
